How trading works here

What actually happens when you buy or sell

Buff works like a full exchange: sellers post asks, buyers post bids, and you can hit either side. Selling into a standing buy order is instant but pays less than waiting for someone to take your ask — that trade-off is the whole reason both numbers are worth showing.

CS2 items bought on Buff are subject to Steam's 7-day trade hold before they can move to another platform.

Balance is CNY and cashing out to real money needs a Chinese payment channel (Alipay), which is the main friction for non-CN users.

What it is built for

  • Usually the lowest prices anywhere, especially on high-volume items
  • Publishes both asks and standing buy orders, so you can sell instantly into a bid
  • The deepest order book of any market we track

Things to know

  • Payment needs a Chinese bank account or an intermediary — this is the real barrier, not the prices
  • Prices are in CNY, so a spread against it moves with the exchange rate
  • Verification and delivery take longer than Western markets

How to trade on Buff163

What you actually have to do, step by step. Every step links to the page it was checked against.

BUFF163 is NetEase's Chinese-market skin platform: the whole help centre, wallet and real-name flow are written for users inside mainland China, and skins never leave your Steam inventory until a buyer pays. Almost everything that blocks a new trader is Steam-side — mobile authenticator age, public inventory, trade URL and an API key — and money in and out runs through Alipay, WeChat Pay, NetEase Pay or a bound Chinese bank card, with sale proceeds locked for a 7-day trade-protection window before you can withdraw them. Expect strict seller-side timers (12 hours to ship, 30 minutes on buy-order supply) and heavy penalties for cancelling a completed trade on Steam.
