What actually happens when you buy or sell
Buyers and sellers trade directly through Steam, with CSFloat holding the payment until delivery. Because fees are low, asking prices tend to sit slightly higher than the bot markets, and the float data means the good ones get taken quickly.

- Peer-to-peer means a trade needs the other side to be online
- We store its paint seeds sparsely — our mapper does not parse `paint_seed` even though their API returns it, so pattern data here is thinner in our own database than on their site
How to trade on CSFloat
What you actually have to do, step by step. Every step links to the page it was checked against.
CSFloat is a peer-to-peer marketplace: you keep your skins in your own Steam inventory until someone buys them, then you send the Steam trade offer yourself. Because trades are P2P, almost everything is on a timer — the seller has to accept a sale and send an offer within hours, the buyer has to accept, and sale proceeds are only credited to your CSFloat balance around eight days later because Steam trades can be reversed in that window. Payouts run through Stripe and only money that came from selling can leave the site; deposited funds can be spent but not withdrawn.
